Mediterranean Honeymoon Slovenia

Let us introduce you to the Mediterranean with the wine hills of Goriška Brda, where you can go straight to the accommodation to relax from a long travel. The afternoon is reserved for a wine tasting with one of the best producers in the region, and after, a romantic dinner with a view of the rolling hills.

This day will see you properly explore the so-called Slovenia Tuscany. You will travel through a variety of picturesque villages, always keeping the green hills in sight. At the Gonjače viewing tower, you’ll get a glimpse of the Mediterranean world to come. Later you will visit Šmartno for a possible olive oil tasting and a lovely lunch, coupled with some great wine.

The afternoon can be extra chill, or you can keep exploring Goriška Brda — visit the Dobrovo Castle or the newly-renovated renaissance Villa Vipolže.

The third day will take you to the seaside. You’ll arrive in one of the most romantic cities in the Adriatic, Piran. The well-preserved ancient town walls and the narrow streets will charm you with their stories about the past. After a walking tour and lunch, get ready to breathe in the sea air on a vintage boat ride while the sun is setting on the Adriatic Sea.

Is anything more Mediterranean than a relaxing gourmet tour of the Olive Groves? Couple that with riding old-school vintage vans and you have a perfect romantic half of the day.

The afternoon is reserved for some chill time at the seaside hotel. But if you still have some energy left, get right on the sea with a stand-up paddleboard or a kayak. You’ll be amazed at the magical scenery you can discover just around the corner.

Did you know that Piran grew with the help of salt? We’ll visit the Sečovlje salt pans, one of the last remaining salt pans in the Mediterranean that still maintain the 700-year-old tradition of producing salt by hand. There you can also unwind at a Thalassotherapy spa, deriving their minerals right from the salt pans.

After lunch, check into your accommodation in Portorož. Get a feel of the lively summer resort with a walk or from the comfort of your room. You can spend the afternoon by yourselves or visit a fish farm and learn their secrets in a cooking class. If up for a more adventurous endeavour, the waves of the Adriatic are always open for an adventure with a SUP or a kayak.

Take this day to embrace the views, relax and stroll along the coast. You could take a trip to Koper and its cute surrounding villages, or you could grab a cup of the best Illy cappuccino out there, right where it all started — in the Italian city of Trieste. It’s just a hop across the Slovenian border.

Spend the afternoon sunbathing by the beach, or go for an ultimate romantic picnic lunch among the olive trees.

You will leave the coast, but not yet the mediterranean world, as you pass through magnificent Karst. There, you’ll visit the Postojna Cave, the most famous in Slovenia. Admire its lovely formations from an underground train ride, and don’t forget to snuggle up, the temperature inside are around 10 °C (or just take some extra clothing 😀). You might even see a baby dragon!

After the magical visit of the underground, continue your way to Ljubljana, where we’ll take the rest of the day easy, enjoying some good food or a possible wine tasting after a walking tour of the city’s highlights.

Unfortunately, every good thing must come to an end, but to make your departure home as care-free as possible we can arrange a transfer to Ljubljana Airport from where you will leave Slovenia with memories that will last a lifetime.
