Best of Slovenia Honeymoon

Bled is the perfect place to start your honeymoon. From here, you can take a boat trip to the cute island and visit an old church. There is a tradition of the groom carrying his bride up all 99 stone steps if the couple wants to get married in it. And don’t forget to ring the bell for good luck.

When back, you can have lunch at the Bled Castle with a spectacular view, and for dessert, try some of the local “kremšnita”. Spend the afternoon exploring the nearby Vintgar Gorge for a perfectly balanced day of nature and culture.

You’ll visit the less crowded but just as beautiful Lake Bohinj, surrounded by majestic mountains in the heart of Triglav National Park. You can take a cable car to Vogel Mountain, rising above the lake and offering some of the best views in Slovenia. Alternatively, you can also admire the country from the height of a hot air balloon ride. We’ll return to Bled, where you can sample local wines or dine at one of many charming restaurants.

The third day will take you to the small but quaint Slovenian coastline. You’ll arrive in one of the most romantic cities in the Adriatic, Piran. It will charm you with its well-preserved ancient town walls and the narrow streets, which whisper many stories of the past. After a walking tour, stop at one of the seaside restaurants and enjoy a delicious dinner with a view of the sunset over the Adriatic.

Did you know that Piran grew with the help of salt? You’ll visit the Sečovlje salt pans, one of the last remaining salt pans in the Mediterranean that still maintain the 700-year-old tradition of producing salt by hand. After that, visit the picturesque villages in the Istrian Hills. Later on, unwind at the lively summer resort of Portorož with some shopping and a candlelit dinner for two.

Your morning is spent by the sea, enjoying a delicious breakfast. This will be followed by a visit to Postojna Cave and a romantic picnic with a view of Predjama Castle. In the late afternoon, head toward Ljubljana for some dinner and sightseeing, before calling it a day.

Let Ljubljana, with its dreamy architecture, charming cafés, and a picturesque riverside promenade, seduce you with its beauty. You can go on a food walking tour around the city and delight in its cuisine while visiting the top sights, like the Castle or the Triple Bridge.

In the afternoon, choose your own activity — get a different view of the urban landscape from the Ljubljanica river on a SUP or on a boat ride, or wine tasting. Evening will be one of the most unique dinner experience around, a dinner in complete darkness. Intrigued yet?

After breakfast, go to Otočec Castle and make your honeymoon the stuff of legends. Sleep in a castle—on an island! Take a walk, then lunch in the castle. Enjoy your afternoon as you wish: explore the grounds or relax in one of the castle’s cozy rooms. And then — a Michelin-recognized dinner and magnificent night in a fairy-tale setting fit for royalty.

Spend your long last morning at the castle, wandering the grounds and enjoying the scenery, before leaving for the airport.
